Obi Visits Kwankwaso Following NDC Presidential Screening
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential hopeful Peter Obi has paid a courtesy visit to former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso at his residence in Abuja.
The meeting took place on Tuesday night, shortly after Obi successfully completed his screening process as a presidential aspirant for the party.
Kwankwaso confirmed the interaction on his official X handle, stating, “Last night, I received a courtesy visit from my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, shortly after his successful screening as the presidential aspirant of our party, the NDC.”
Expressing optimism regarding their joint political future within the newly formed party, Kwankwaso added, “The future is bright and full of promise.”
The visit follows the recent clearance of Obi by the NDC screening committee, which is led by former Ebonyi State Governor Sam Egwu.
Both politicians formally joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress in May 2026, positioning the party as a key opposition force ahead of the 2027 general elections.
