“They Told Tinubu I Wanted to Kill Him” — Shettima Reveals Alleged Plot to Create Division
Vice President Kashim Shettima has revealed that some individuals allegedly tried to turn President Bola Tinubu against him shortly after they assumed office.
Speaking at an event in honour of former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, Shettima said certain people from Borno State accused him of plotting to kill Tinubu and take over power.
According to him, the allegation was linked to clothes he gifted Tinubu during the election period.
“Some people told him I was planning to use the clothes to kill him and take over,” Shettima said.
He added that Tinubu dismissed the claims and still wore the clothes, describing the president as someone who is “not fetish.”
Shettima used the occasion to urge Nigerians to promote unity rather than division
