“I’d Rather My Daughter Leave Her Marriage Than Cheat Back” — Abia LG Deputy Mayor says as she accuses women of teaching the next generation to cheat back
The Deputy Mayor of Bende LGA in Abia State, Ngozi Anya, has criticised women who encourage wives to retaliate against cheating husbands by cheating in return.
In a Facebook post, Anya said she intends to raise her daughters to understand that infidelity by married women is unacceptable in Igbo culture.
She added that while she would welcome her daughters back home if they could no longer cope with infidelity in marriage, she would not support revenge cheating as a solution.
She wrote; “My gender is proudly teaching the next generation that the best punishment for a cheating husband is to cheat back,” she wrote.
“Ooh ye! If ur husband cheats, cheat back. Once you’re caught. We will all be here to defend you shamelessly.
“My own daughters will grow up to understand that men are polygamous in nature, that’s how God wired them.
“If u find out that your husband is cheating and you can’t emotionally withstand it, come back to my house Nwam! I will proudly receive you back.
“They will grow up to understand that sleeping with another man while still in their husbands houses is an abomination in Igbo land.
“For my gender, zuzuwanu! Agbacha egwu ya ala n’ ukwu!.”
