PDP Clears Jonathan Ahead of Presidential Primary
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has cleared former President Goodluck Jonathan by waiver ahead of its presidential primary election.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday in Abuja by former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, a member of the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP screening committee.
Jonathan was screened despite reports that he did not personally appear to submit his nomination form ahead of the exercise.
The move comes amid ongoing political realignments within the PDP and renewed speculation about Jonathan’s possible return to presidential politics
