”MTN Ole!” — Sowore Leads Protest Over High Telecom Charges

Activists led by Omoyele Sowore on Wednesday stormed the Abuja headquarters of MTN Nigeria to protest rising telecom charges and poor service delivery.

The protesters were seen chanting “MTN Ole!” while demanding an end to what they described as exploitative pricing and inadequate service.

“We demand that MTN immediately stop all the exorbitant charges,” one protester said, citing complaints from subscribers who allegedly pay for data without receiving value.

The protest comes amid growing public frustration over the cost of telecom services and follows plans by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to picket South African-owned businesses, including MTN and MultiChoice, over xenophobic attacks.
