“Forget Biafra, Build Bridges Across Nigeria” — Joe Igbokwe Tells Ndigbo

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has outlined key lessons he believes the Igbo people should embrace regarding leadership and political relevance in Nigeria.

In a statement shared on social media, Igbokwe urged South-East indigenes to abandon the pursuit of Biafra and instead focus on building stronger political and economic relationships across the country.

According to him, leadership in Nigeria is achieved through strategic alliances, national integration, and active participation in the political process rather than isolation.

The APC stalwart stressed the need for Ndigbo to engage more with other regions, cultivate friendships, and strengthen networks that can advance the interests of the South-East on the national stage.

Igbokwe maintained that unity, collaboration, and bridge-building remain the most effective paths to achieving greater political influence and development for the Igbo people within a united Nigeria.

His comments have sparked conversations online, with supporters and critics debating the future of the South-East and the continued calls for Biafra.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe said, “Let us go and make friends across Nigeria

“Let us go and build bridges of friendship,  trust and cooperation.

“Let us stop this paranoid grandiosity.

“Let us do away with this selfish sense of superiority.

“Let us do away with this “I Better Than Others” syndrome.

“Let us learn what the erudite scholars call cultural competence.

“Let us learn that politics is a game of numbers.

“Let us stop this senseless agitation for a useless Biafra project.

“Let Igbo stop killing their own people and burning homes in the name of the useless Biafra project.

“Let us have emotional intelligence and reject ethnic preoccupation.

“Let us not be too loud, let us stop the noise and do the  needful.”
