“If We Can Track Influencers, We Can Track Bandits” — Fomer Chief of Staff, Tukur Buratai, says

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd), has questioned why security agencies appear unable to locate bandits despite their ability to swiftly track ordinary citizens and social media influencers.

Speaking on TVC, Buratai dismissed the notion that bandits are untraceable, noting that many openly flaunt ransom proceeds and criminal activities online.

“If they can locate ordinary citizens or social media influencers, I don’t believe they cannot locate these bandits,” he said.

The former army chief called for improved capacity building among security agencies, warning that bandits have become more sophisticated and emboldened in carrying out attacks and displaying the proceeds of their crimes.
