“Spain Will Win the 2026 World Cup” — Opta SuperComputer Predicts countries to finish top three
The Opta SuperComputer has predicted that Spain will emerge as champions of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Spain, the reigning European champions, have been widely tipped by football analysts and pundits to add the World Cup title to their recent successes.
According to Opta’s latest projections, La Roja have a 16.0% chance of lifting the trophy, making them the tournament favourites.
France are ranked second with a 12.9% probability of winning the competition, while England sit third on 10.8% as they seek a first World Cup triumph since 1966.
Spain have been drawn in Group H alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and tournament debutants Cape Verde.
The 2026 World Cup is set to kick off on Thursday night, with co-hosts Mexico taking on South Africa in the opening fixture.
