My daughter is not on drugs, she never introduced drugs to her brothers – BBNaija star, Ilebaye’s mother speaks

Ms. Lami, the mother of reality TV star Ilebaye Odiniya, has strongly refuted claims made by her ex-husband, Emmanuel Odiniya, accusing their daughter of drug use. The controversy erupted after a viral voice recording surfaced in which Mr. Odiniya alleged that the Big Brother Naija All Stars winner not only used drugs but also influenced her younger brother to do the same, purportedly leading to his expulsion from school. He further claimed that Ilebaye had previously advised him to divorce her mother.

Speaking through tears in an emotional interview, Ms. Lami dismissed the accusations as a “calculated attempt at character assassination.” she argued that the claims were fabricated to shift public focus away from a recent physical altercation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, which left Ilebaye with a swollen and battered face. She suggested that Mr. Odiniya is “playing the victim game” to justify his own actions after the video of the assault went viral on social media.

Lami provided a harrowing look into the family’s private struggles, alleging that Ilebaye and herself have suffered from “constant emotional abuse” at the hands of the father for years. She explained that her absence from the family home was a direct result of this toxic environment. “For a father to come out to lie against his child is so traumatizing,” she stated, insisting that her daughter is entirely innocent of the drug-related charges.

The mother further clarified the situation regarding her sons, noting that the school expulsion claim was a distortion of facts used to damage Ilebaye’s public image. She emphasized that Ilebaye is currently “going through a lot” and is struggling with the psychological toll of the family’s public breakdown. Lami maintained that her daughter’s primary focus had been checking on her brothers’ well-being before the confrontation escalated.

Despite the trauma of the ordeal, Ms. Lami expressed her determination to remain a pillar of support for her daughter during this crisis. She called for the public to look past the “lies” and see the situation for what it is—a domestic crisis involving physical and emotional violence. “Whatever he came out to say, let God be the judge,” she remarked, adding that she is leaving the ultimate resolution to a higher power.

As the story continues to develop, the FCT Police Command is expected to provide further updates on the assault investigation involving the reality star and her father. For now, the public remains divided as more details of the fractured Odiniya family dynamic come to light on Ilebaye’s 24th birthday.
