Paternity dispute: Cubana Chiefpriest agrees to public DNA test with Kenyan woman
Socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has officially declared his willingness to undergo a DNA test to resolve a long-standing paternity dispute with Kenyan national Hellen Ati. This development follows renewed public pressure after a viral video emerged of Ati pleading for financial assistance for their alleged child, whom she claims is currently ill.
In response to the public outcry on social media, Chiefpriest invited the parties involved to a television studio for a live, televised DNA test. He stated, “Make Una help me bring her & the child for una studio make I come there come do the DNA For una on live tv for free.” This marks a notable shift in his stance; he has previously denied the allegations since they first surfaced in 2023, consistently maintaining that he did not father a child with Ati and accusing her of using the situation to damage his marriage and public reputation.
The paternity dispute has been marked by years of online contention. Ati has consistently alleged that the child was conceived during a brief encounter in Lagos in 2022 and has spent the last several years publicly calling for a DNA test to secure support for her son. Throughout this time, the dispute has involved various public figures, including a high-profile but ultimately unsuccessful attempt by singer Burna Boy in early 2025 to facilitate a paternity test.
While Ati has expressed frustration over the years—even suggesting the businessman had previously backed out of similar arrangements—Chiefpriest continues to reject the legitimacy of her claims. He insists that he will not provide financial support to someone he identifies as a “hustler” creating content with his name, but he maintains that a public DNA test is the definitive way to settle the matter. As of now, the socialite has shifted the burden of logistics to the claimant, stating that if she wants the test, she must bring the child forward to be tested.
