Shatta Wale bailed Burna Boy from Ghana prison after arrest for smoking weed – Captan
Ghanaian singer Captan has alleged that his former label boss, Shatta Wale, previously intervened to save Burna Boy during the Nigerian star’s time in Ghana. In a recent podcast interview, Captan stated that he was directly involved in securing Burna Boy’s release from police custody after an arrest related to smoking weed.
Captan recounted the experience, saying, “I once bailed Burna Boy out of prison in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed. Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him from police custody.” He noted that this effort was part of the support the camp provided to the Nigerian artist during his early career.
Beyond legal assistance, Captan claimed that the Shatta Wale camp provided physical protection for Burna Boy when he faced threats. “There was a time we also accommodated him when some people were after his life. We helped him settle the case,” he explained.
The relationship between the artists has since deteriorated, largely following the fallout between Burna Boy and his mentor, Shatta Wale. Captan confirmed that he and the Nigerian singer are currently not on good terms due to these past conflicts.
Despite the current tension, Captan maintained that there is no lasting animosity from their side. He emphasized that both he and Shatta Wale remain open to the possibility of reconciliation.
Ultimately, Captan stated that the door remains open for Burna Boy to mend the broken connection. He noted that they would be willing to bury the hatchet if the Nigerian artist chooses to reach out and ask for it.
