PDP, Atiku withdraws application filed against INEC
The Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have withdrawn an application they filed to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to allow their agents to participate in the process of sorting out ballot papers that were used for the February 25 presidential election. Both the Party and its candidate are challenging the outcome of the election that was declared in favour of Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. Nigerians applying for passports to pay N1,000 NIN verification fee
Nigerians applying for passports will be charged N1000 in Nigeria to verify their National Identification Number. The National Identity Management Commission disclosed this in a statement signed by its Head, Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, on Monday. According to the commission, the fee is to improve the quality of service, accuracy, and speed of passport services through timely verification of NIN. “This new arrangement is in furtherance of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy’s directive to streamline passport application, renewal, and issuance processes. “Consequently, a NIN Verification fee would be charged for each Nigerian passport application for this service.”
