“Tinubu Can Govern Nigeria From Anywhere” — Presidency

The Presidency has defended President Bola Tinubu’s prolonged stay abroad, insisting that he can effectively govern Nigeria from anywhere.

In a statement on Sunday, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu is “hale and hearty” and has been on a working vacation.

“In this digital age, he does not need to be physically present in Abuja to do the work for which he was elected in 2023,” Onanuga said.

He added that the President had continued working during his stay abroad, including meeting investors in France and facilitating a proposed $7 billion deep-sea port project in Ogun Waterside.

The statement followed concerns from Nigerians and opposition figures over the President’s absence after the official three-week vacation period
