“I Supported Tinubu Because Nigerians Annoyed Me With Their Bullying” — Bimbo Akintola
Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed that online bullying over political choices influenced her decision to publicly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last presidential election.
Speaking in an interview with Chude, Akintola said the backlash faced by veteran actress Joke Silva over her support for Tinubu pushed her to openly declare her own position.
“I supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last election because Nigerians annoyed me with their bullying,” Akintola said.
She recalled making a video declaring her support for Tinubu after seeing the criticism against Silva, saying, “I’m also supporting Tinubu, kill me, let me see if you can change my mind.”
Akintola also urged Nigerians to respect differing political opinions and avoid bullying people over their choices.
