Nothing in this world would make me go for a DNA test on children I already love – Nigerian man says
A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after declaring that he would continue to love and take responsibility for a child he had raised, even if a DNA test later revealed that the child was biologically fathered by another man.
In a video circulating on social media, he shared the story of an acquaintance who discovered that a daughter he had raised during his marriage was not biologically his. According to him, the girl’s biological father later appeared and sought custody.
Rather than undergo a DNA test, the man reportedly chose to continue raising the child and eventually included her among the beneficiaries of his properties.
Reflecting on the story, the speaker said he would make a similar choice, stressing that discovering a child was not biologically his would not erase the bond formed through years of love and parenting.
‘’I do not pray for things like this to happen to me \, I am saying it categorically: there is nothing in this world that would make go and conduct a DNA on the kids that I already love. If that child belongs to the other person, so be it but in my mind and till I go to heaven, that child remains my child. Doing that DNA might cause greater damage,” he said
