Alleged N36m fraud: Court puts Blessing CEO’s bail application on hold

The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has reserved its ruling on the bail application filed by social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

Justice D.I. Dipeolu announced on Friday, June 5, 2026, that the court’s decision regarding the application will be delivered on June 9, 2026, following the conclusion of arguments from both the defense and the prosecution.

Case Background

Blessing CEO is currently standing trial on a two-count charge brought against her by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The charges border on alleged obtaining by false pretence and stealing involving the sum of N36 million.

The Allegations: The EFCC contends that between July 14 and 17, 2024, the defendant obtained the N36 million from a complainant, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye, under the false pretence of securing a six-bedroom detached duplex in the Lekki area of Lagos. She is also accused of fraudulently converting the funds to her own use.

Arraignment: Blessing CEO was arraigned on May 15, 2026, where she pleaded “not guilty” to all charges.

Previous Proceedings: During her arraignment, the defense counsel informed the court that the defendant had already refunded N24 million of the alleged amount to the complainant, with efforts underway to resolve the outstanding balance. However, the prosecution maintained that the case is a matter between the defendant and the Federal Government, regardless of any private settlement discussions.

Remand: Following her arraignment, the court ordered that the defendant be remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing of her bail application.
