‘Your tenure of propaganda coming to an end’ – Atiku blasts Tinubu
Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu as his administration marks its third anniversary. Atiku declared that the public’s patience is running thin and that the current tenure of “governance by deception” is approaching its end.
Atiku stated, “The era of excuses is ending. The era of accountability is approaching. The era of propaganda is fading. And with the support of Nigerians, a new chapter of competence, prosperity, security, and genuine hope shall begin.” He emphasized that citizens are now vigilant and prepared to cast their verdict through the ballot box in the upcoming election.
Firing directly at the president, Atiku argued that the administration’s official self-congratulatory rhetoric ignores the harsh reality on the ground. “Three years ago, President Tinubu promised renewed hope. What Nigerians have received instead is renewed hardship, renewed insecurity, renewed poverty, and renewed hopelessness,” he asserted.
The former Vice President highlighted skyrocketing food prices, a weakened naira, and the collapse of small businesses as the true hallmarks of the last three years. He also raised concerns over fiscal policy, pointing to nearly N12 trillion in government borrowing with only a fraction reportedly directed toward capital projects, while also questioning the awarding of major infrastructure contracts to politically connected interests.
On the issue of national security, Atiku cited the recent kidnappings of students and teachers in Borno and Oyo states as a “damning indictment” of the administration’s performance. He characterized these failures as the inevitable result of a government he believes is “detached from reality and addicted to propaganda.”
Looking ahead, Atiku pledged that the ADC would soon unveil a comprehensive policy blueprint focused on economic recovery, job creation, and security reform. He concluded with a warning to those currently in power, stating, “The people are awake. The people are watching. And when the time comes, they will deliver their verdict through the ballot.”
