Obi Cubana Reportedly Deletes City Boy Movement Posts from Instagram

Nigerian businessman and socialite Obi Cubana has reportedly removed all content related to the “City Boy Movement” from his official Instagram page. The development comes amidst ongoing public backlash directed at him for his prominent role in the pro-Tinubu advocacy group.

Obi Cubana, who had been serving as the South-East Regional Director for the City Boy Movement—a youth-driven organization dedicated to promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda”—has yet to issue an official statement regarding the deletion of the posts.

The movement has been a visible entity in Nigerian politics, known for organizing grassroots support, campus tours, and food drives to assist vulnerable households. However, the socialite’s alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has made him a frequent target of criticism from segments of the public who are dissatisfied with the current state of the economy.

The move follows a week of political turbulence for other high-profile figures aligned with the government. Earlier this week, socialite Cubana Chief Priest, another prominent supporter of the ruling party, made headlines after losing his bid for an APC House of Representatives ticket.

As of today, May 22, 2026, Obi Cubana has not addressed the speculation surrounding his decision to scrub his social media of the political content.
