Blaqbonez Explains Why He Declined $1 Million Mavin Records Offer
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed why he turned down a reported one-million-dollar deal to join the prominent label, Mavin Records.
The rapper shared his reasoning via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, citing his personal approach to digital engagement as the primary obstacle. According to Blaqbonez, he is not inclined toward the high level of social media activity that a major label environment typically demands.
In his post, he explained:
“Need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious.”
While the claim has sparked conversation among fans and industry observers, it reflects the artist’s well-known, often eccentric personality. Blaqbonez has previously maintained a brand built on irony and humor, and this latest statement appears to be in line with his characteristic approach to social media.
This revelation comes at a time of heightened public interest in Mavin Records’ internal dynamics, following recent high-profile exits and internal disputes involving other former signees.
