KASU Moves to Digitise Education, Partners with University of London

Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, has announced plans to fast-track the transformation of the state’s education sector into a technology-driven and globally competitive system.

He revealed that the state sent a delegation of academics to the 2026 RIDE Conference at the University of London, where they engaged with global experts in digital and distance learning.

According to him, the visit opened opportunities for a partnership between Kaduna State University (KASU) and the University of London, with a formal Memorandum of Understanding expected soon.

The collaboration will focus on strengthening online and distance education through initiatives such as deploying a central Learning Management System, training lecturers in digital teaching, and launching joint research and exchange programmes.

Sambo added that the move aligns with ongoing reforms in Kaduna, including the expansion of blended learning, CBT-based assessments, and efforts to reach out-of-school children through flexible learning models.
