“Sowore’s Remand Shows Corruption in Nigeria’s Justice System” — VeryDarkMan

Social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has criticized the remand of activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Reacting to the development, the social media personality described the situation as another indication of the challenges within Nigeria’s justice system.

According to VeryDarkMan, Sowore’s detention raises concerns about fairness and due process in the handling of the case.

“Omoyele Sowore has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Center until Wednesday. All I can see here is corruption in the justice system of Nigeria,” he said.

He also questioned the charges against the activist, claiming that Sowore was asked to substantiate statements he allegedly made against President Bola Tinubu.

“According to the charges, he called President Tinubu a thief and they asked him to prove it,” he stated.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that there were contradictions surrounding the court proceedings, claiming that Sowore’s bail was revoked despite his presence in court.

“He was in court but the court revoked his bail and claimed he was never in court, even though there was video evidence,” he added.

The remarks have generated fresh debate on social media, with supporters and critics expressing differing views on the legal proceedings involving the activist.
