Baba-Ahmed Explains Why Obi and Kwankwaso’s PRP Move Failed
National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has revealed why Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso’s attempt to join the party collapsed.
While there were speculations that both politicians would move from the African Democratic Congress to the PRP, they ultimately joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Baba-Ahmed explained that while talks were held between the party and the politicians, the discussions ended due to specific disagreements.
Speaking on the failed negotiations, he said, “They came and said they wanted to join the PRP, but when we sat down and discussed with them, there were certain demands they made.”
A primary issue was their request to be guaranteed the party’s presidential ticket without participating in any internal competition.
Baba-Ahmed shared these details during an interview with DITV Kaduna, clarifying the conditions that prevented the politicians from joining the party.
