ADC Rebounds Following Obi and Kwankwaso Departure
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially moved past the recent exit of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi addressed the party’s status on Wednesday during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show.’
Describing the high-profile departures as a minor setback, Abdullahi stated, “Peter Obi and Kwankwaso moving from the ADC was a glitch. We have moved on from it.”
The duo recently defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), citing internal party wranglings and unresolved court cases as their reasons.
Abdullahi emphasized the party’s resilience, noting, “We have stabilised and moved forward because the objective remains the same, stopping the steady deterioration of governance in the country and strengthening multi-party democracy.”
He concluded by saying, “While some have moved to other parties and others remain in ADC, the broader vision of building a strong opposition coalition is still very much alive within the current political dynamics.”m
