“ISWAP Kills Brigade Commander in Midnight Attack” — Military Camp Overrun in Borno
Suspected ISWAP terrorists have reportedly killed Brigadier General O. O. Braimah during a midnight attack on a military base in Benesheikh, Kaga LGA of Borno State.
Security sources said the insurgents stormed the camp in large numbers, setting parts of it ablaze and engaging troops in heavy fighting.
A security expert, Brant Philip, confirmed that the senior officer was killed in the assault, describing him as one of the highest-ranking casualties in recent attacks.
Reports also indicate that civilians, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), security personnel, and several insurgents were killed in coordinated attacks in Benesheikh and parts of Gwoza.
Residents confirmed the incident, expressing grief over the loss of lives and the continued wave of violence in the region.
