Newlywed Corps Member Killed in Plateau Reprisal Attack
A newlywed corps member, Ibrahim Haruna, has been killed in a reprisal attack following the recent violence in Gari Ya Waye community, Jos North LGA of Plateau State.
The attack occurred after the earlier incident on March 29, which claimed about 30 lives. In the aftermath, some aggrieved residents reportedly attacked unsuspecting travellers along the Jos-Bauchi highway, leading to further casualties.
Haruna, who had recently gotten married, was said to be close to completing his national service.
The development has heightened tension in the area, prompting the Plateau State Government to impose a 48-hour curfew to restore calm and prevent further violence.
