Okonjo-Iweala emerges DG of World Trade Organisation
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has emerged Director-general, DG of the World trade organization, WTO Okonjo- Iweala who was the nominee from Nigeria polled 104 votes from 164 member countries to defeat South Korea’s Minister of Trade Minister, Yoo Myung-Hee. Okonjo-Iweala’s success as WTO DG makes her the first African and first female director-general of the international body in its 25-year history.

A report has gone viral that hoodlums have defaced the statue of late Obafemi Awolowo by removing his iconic glasses.
