Wearing of military uniform for campaign posters or political events is illegal – Defence Headquarters warns politicians
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has warned politicians against the habit of wearing military uniforms and accoutrements for campaign posters or for political events. This was according to a statement released by Air Commodore Wap Maigida, acting Director Defence Information. He said the Defence Headquarters has noticed the campaign posters of some Governors dressed in military camouflage uniforms and displayed in noticeable areas in their respective states. FG imposes N10/litre excise duty on soft drinks
The federal government has introduced an excise duty of N10/litre on all non-alcoholic, carbonated and sweetened beverages. This was made known by Zainab Ahmed, minister of finance, budget and national planning during a public presentation of the 2022 Appropriation Act in Abuja on Wednesday January 5. Ahmed said the excise duty was introduced in line with the Finance Act signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 31, 2021.
