Omoyele Sowore has reacted to calls by President Muhammadu Buhari for Ministers with electoral ambitions to resign. He described the decision as a good idea. The activist in a tweet he shared asked that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo resigns alongside the ministers so that there is a level playing field for all aspirants. He wrote: “It is good that @Mbuhari has asked his ministers contesting elections to resign, but it is also fair, ethical and I ask that Chief @ProfOsinbajo MUST resign as well so that there is a level playing field for all aspirants”.

President Muhammadu has directed ministers with presidential ambitions to resign immediately. The President gave the directive on Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council meeting. He also asked those with other ambitions or contesting for various positions to resign Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba has since tendered his resignation and was applauded by the President for his bravery.
