Niger State Government has refuted claims by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, that it is in a debt of N1.7 billion, saying the debt owed is N1.1 billion.The Secretary to the State Government SSG, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Matane, stated this while briefing newsmen in his office in Minna. AEDC disconnects Niger state House of Assembly complex and other govt offices over N1.9 billion debt
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has begun the disconnection of government offices in Niger State over a debt of N1.9 billion. The state’s House of Assembly complex, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and water board among others have all been disconnected. Most of the offices affected were powered by generators when they resumed for work on Tuesday, April 19.
