Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has said that the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, has confirmed to him that the Arabic inscription aka ‘Ajami’ would not be removed from the redesigned Naira notes. Since his announcement of the redesigning of the N200, N500 and N1000 notes, there have been calls by some Nigerians for retaining or removal of the Arabic inscriptions. Ifeanyi Adeleke, the 3 year old son of Music star, Davido and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland has sadly died. The tragic death occured on Monday, October 31. Ifeanyi died by drowning at his dad’s Banana Island home. He was rushed Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The couple had traveled for a family gathering to Ibadan yesterday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders who can’t explain how he entered the pool without being noticed and drowned. Nigerian Man swallows seven packs of cocaine during drug sting in Thailand
A Nigerian man identified as Chidozie W.E swallowed cocaine during a drug sting conducted by the drug enforcement police and met police in Thailand. The officers were acting on a tip-off that the Nigerian man was dealing in cocaine after they had arrested a 29-year-old lady identified as Catherine, who was in possession of the Class 2 drug. Couple arrested over alleged human trafficking in Ogun State
A couple identified as Godday and Ebere Samuel have been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command for human trafficking. According to the command’s spokesperson SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Atan Ota divisional headquarters by one Adeniji Okikiolu, who stated that his 16-year-old daughter, Maria Adeniji suddenly disappeared from home on the 16th of October 2022. Buhari declares support for redesigning of Naira notes
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he is fully in support of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s move to redesign the naira notes. The Borno Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old housewife, Fatima Abubakar, for allegedly killing her husband, Goni Abbah with poison.
