    The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has defeated the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Lagos state. Though Tinubu won more local government areas, Obi defeated him with most of the votes. Obi polled 582,664, while Tinubu scored 541,850. All the results of the 20 local governments have been declared. Tinubu won in 11, while Obi won in nine local government areas.

    Labour party has won its first national assembly seat following the declaration of Hon. Ginger Onwusibe as House of Representatives member-elect for Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency of Abia state, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.  Onwusibe defeated Professor Anthony Agbazuere, immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the election.  Ginger polled a total number of 20,411 valid votes to defeat his PDP opponent who polled a total of 13508 votes.
