2023 Election: Failure to electronically transmit results from polling unit renders process invalid – Okowa calls for cancellation of ongoing presidential elections
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Vice-Presidential candidate has backed calls for cancellation of the ongoing collation of presidential election results. He said this while speaking at a joint press conference with Labour Party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed, the Delta state Governor stated that the electoral act which Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Yakubu Mahmood, had always wanted, makes it mandatory for elections results to be transmitted from polling units. He said this would in turn be used for the manual collation. Okowa stated that failure to do this, renders the process invalid.

Atiku beat Tinubu, Obi to win Presidential polls in Akwa Ibom
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has won the national election in Akwa Ibom State. He secured 214,012 votes to defeat Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 160,620 votes while Peter Obi, of the Labour Party, LP, won 132,683 votes. Breaking: Peter Obi wins Presidential polls in Lagos State
The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has defeated the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Lagos state. Though Tinubu won more local government areas, Obi defeated him with most of the votes. Obi polled 582,664, while Tinubu scored 541,850. All the results of the 20 local governments have been declared. Tinubu won in 11, while Obi won in nine local government areas.
