    The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have rejected the Federal Government’s proposal of a new minimum wage of N54,000. During a meeting with Organized Labour in Abuja, the Federal Government raised its offer from the previous N48,000 to N54,000. As of press time, the meeting is still ongoing. Previously, the NLC and TUC walked out on the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage after the government proposed N48,000, and dismissed any notion of accepting N100,000 as the new minimum wage.
