Three kidnapped Seminarians released, one still at large.
Three kidnapped seminarians of Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kakau along Abuja /Kaduna Highway have been released. WHO declares International Emergency over Coronavirus
The UN health agency on Thursday declared an international emergency over the deadly coronavirus from China. “Our greatest concern is the potential for the virus to spread to countries with weaker health systems…. Electricity Workers threaten National Blackout
Electricity workers have threatened to embark on a strike which would lead to another National blackout. The National Union of Electricity Employees, have issued a 14-day ultimatum to government if they fail to implement the December 11, 2019 agreement it reached with them. The union’s grievances include unpaid benefits to over 2,000 disengaged workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria since 2013; underpayment of over 50,000 ex-PHCN staff; payment of half salaries to workers by the power distribution companies, among other perceived unfair labour practices. Soldiers beat Man to Death, accuses him of stealing Car Battery
Soldiers of 7 Division of Nigerian Army attached to Wolf Officer Mess, GRA, Maiduguri, Borno State, have beaten and killed a young man, Opowgu Peter, after falsely accusing him of stealing generator battery. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when Peter’s car refused to start which promoted him to borrow a generator battery to start his can which he returned afterwards.
