Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State is currently meeting with the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi. The meeting is holding in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State where Sanusi was banished to. Man kills Brother for bringing Parrots into their Home
The police in Ogun state have arrested a 40-year old man, Olanrewaju Adeyinka, who allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Gabriel, to death with a window Louvre for bringing two life parrots into their home in the Ilaro area of the state. He confessed to the crime but said it was a mistake when he was paraded before newsmen on the 12th of March. The Senate is set to remove the immunity in criminal matters enjoyed by Presidents, Vice Presidents, State governors and their deputies in Nigeria. The bill is seeking an alteration to the 1999 Constitution. Ahmed Idris, the accountant-general of the federation who appeared before a senate committee on finance on Tuesday March 10, gave a breakdown of how the excess crude account (ECA) of $2.2 billion which President Buhari inherited from Jonathan’s administration in 2015, decreased to $71.8 million in 2020. Idris revealed that the ECA balance decreased from $2.2 billion in 2015 to $2.6 billion in 2016, $2.4 billion in 2017 and $631.4 million in 2018. As at 2019, the ECA balance was $325 million. Senator Bima Enagi on Wednesday, March 11, introduced a bill seeking a ban on importation of generators and jail term for its sellers.
