Former NYSC DG, Edet Akpan is dead
Former NYSC DG, Brig. Gen. Edet Akpan is dead. He died in Uyo, Akwaibom state. The sad news was confirmed by the Director, Press and Public Relations of NYSC, Adenike Adeyemi. Brig. Gen. Edet Akpan was the fourth NYSC DG. His administration from 1984 to 1988 led to the introduction and institution of the NYSC flag and anthem which are still in use. His tenure also established NYSC farms across Nigeria and “enhanced the Community Development Service (CDS) of corps members”. May his soul rest in peace.

Yobe State Chief Judge, Nabaruma is Dead
The Chief Judge of Yobe State, Justice Musa Nabaruma is dead. He died on Monday after a protracted illness at the National Hospital in Abuja. The sad news was confirmed by a family member, Hussaini Nabaruma on Tuesday. Justice Nabaruma served as the Chief Judge of Yobe State for nine years. He was appointed as the Chief Judge of Yobe state in 2011 by the immediate past governor of the state, Ibrahim Gaidam.

Popular Oyo Islamic cleric, Taofeeq Akeubagold has called out one of his workers who allegedly masterminded the kidnap of his twins. Akeubagold shared photos of the suspect, identified his as Opeyemi ibraheem Agbenuso Odo. The Plateau State Police Command have arrested the gunmen who reportedly killed a University of Jos lecturer, Dr Nendi Drengkat. 27-year-old Ghanaian man, Derrick Amponsah, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 15-year-old student and biting her clitoris, leaving her to bleed profusely after the act.
