World Council of Bishops demand repeal of application of CAMA laws

Mali President, Keïta resigns, dissolves cabinet
Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, President of Mali has resigned his position as president of the country. He shared the news while addressing the nation on Wednesday. Keïta stated that he does not want blood to be spilled for him to remain in power, adding that he was also dissolving his cabinet. This comes hours after he and Prime Minister Boubou Cissé were arrested and detained by the military. Demonstrations demanding Keïta’s resignation had been holding for over three months as there was a huge jubilation during his arrest.

Sharia Council calls on Ganduje to approve death sentence for Kano Singer
The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, SCSN, has advised Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State to approve the execution of the musician, Shariff Yahaya Shariff, recently sentenced to death by the Shari’ah court in Kano for alleged blasphemy. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has hinted that the Nigerian government may sue Ghana over the closure of Nigerians’ shops in Ghana. Governor Hope Uzodinma’s convoy was on Monday, 17th august attacked on his way to the 34 Attilary Brigade in Obinze, to inaugurate an officers mess built by the state government. Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has clearly stated that the August 29 resumption date of international flights is uncertain.
