Flying Officer, Arotile laid to rest in Abuja
Nigeria’s flying officer, Tolulope Arotile, has been laid to rest. Arotile who was Nigerian Air Force fighter pilot was buried at the military cemetery in Abuja, amid tears. She was the first female combat helicopter pilot of NAF. The 24-year-old flying officer was recently hit by a car driven by an ex-classmate in Kaduna and she died after sustaining head injury. Present during the burial was the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Sadique; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and his wife; the House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nalla and the family members of the deceased.

Nigerians with expired visa to evacuate UAE on or before August 17
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ordered Nigerians with expired visas to leave the country on or before August 17. In a statement released late Wednesday, July 22, the Nigerian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE, announced that the UAE government has given waivers on fines and penalties to Nigerian nationalities whose visas expired before March 1 and expect the affected Nigerians to leave the UAE on or before August 17. Ondo Election: Eyitayo Jegede emerges PDP Gubernatorial Candidate
Eyitayo Jegede has emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the people Democratic party, PDP after defeating the states deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi. Jegede polled 888 votes while Ajayi who garnered 657 votes and seven other candidates. Jegede will now battle the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu in the governorship election which is barely three months away.

Buhari to depart for Mali on Peace Mission
President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Nigeria for Mali on a peace mission following his meeting with the ECOWAS Special Envoy, and former President Goodluck Jonathan. Magu claims Ministries and Government agencies benefitted from recovered assets
The suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has claimed that some of the forfeited assets recovered by the agency, were auctioned to ministries and government agencies. Magu was accused of failing to account for recovered loot and assets. Malami had alleged that Magu sold some of the recovered assets to his associates. Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has tested positive for Coronavirus. He stated this in a tweet via his twitter handle. FG to close Third Mainland bridge on Friday till 2021
The Federal Government has announced that the third mainland bridge will be closed on Friday for maintenance to be carried out and will not be opened till January 2021. This was according to a statement by Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola on Tuesday.
