FG has spent N15.8B for hazard allowances – Ngige
The Federal Government says it has so far spent N15.8 billion on hazard allowances in its teaching hospitals and medical centres across the country. This was according to a statement by the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige in Abuja on Monday while addressing journalists at a meeting with the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) leadership. Schools to reopen for JSS3 and SS3 students from August 4

One-year rent agreements will get 0.78% stamp duty – FIRS
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has made a clarification on its plan to impose astamp duty charge on tenancy. FIRS executive chairman, Muhammad Nami who spoke at a webinar organised by OTISVIP, said the six percent stamp duty charge on tenancy previously announced will only apply to tenancy and lease agreements that are above 21 years. According to him, tenancy and lease agreements less than seven years would carry 0.78 percent stamp duty while agreements between seven and 21 years will carry a three percent charge.
