Governor Hope Uzodinma’s convoy was on Monday, 17th august attacked on his way to the 34 Attilary Brigade in Obinze, to inaugurate an officers mess built by the state government. The hoodlums armed with guns and machetes claimed to be staff members of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) and also disclosed they were protesting non-payment of their salaries. 15 Suspects linked to the attack were arrested. Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has clearly stated that the August 29 resumption date of international flights is uncertain. Two Islamic clerics bag 22 years imprisonment for raping four girls
A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Minna, Niger State, on Monday August 17, sentenced two brothers, Hassan Bilyaminu and Abdullahi Biliyaminu, who are Islamic clerics, to 22 years imprisonment for raping four girls who were students in their Islamic school in Minna, the state capital. The Bayelsa Governorship Election Tribunal on Monday nullified the election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to order a fresh election within 90 days.
