Tunde Perry Raises Alarm Over Peller’s Continued Detention

Content creator Tunde Perry has publicly raised concerns regarding the ongoing detention of fellow influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, who has been held by the police since Friday, July 3, 2026. According to Perry, the arrest occurred in the Lekki area of Lagos while Peller was returning from a film shoot, allegedly due to driving a vehicle with tinted glass and missing license plates.

Reports indicate that the situation was further complicated by an earlier confrontation at the shoot location, where area boys reportedly demanded a payment of ₦250,000 from the creator. Following his initial arrest in Lekki, Tunde Perry confirmed during a TikTok live session that the case has since been transferred to a police facility in Ikeja.

Peller’s absence from social media has fueled speculation and concern among his followers, as his last verified online activity was on the day of his arrest. While the police have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the specific charges or the reason for the transfer to Ikeja, the case has drawn significant attention given Peller’s high profile as one of Nigeria’s prominent TikTok influencers.

This incident marks a new legal challenge for the influencer, who previously faced police investigation in December 2025 following a separate incident involving reckless driving and a vehicle crash. As of July 6, 2026, Peller remains in custody, and his associates are calling for clarity on his legal status and a swift resolution to the matter.
