Makinde Joins Presidential Race as PDP Faction and APM Seal Alliance
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by Governor Seyi Makinde has partnered with the Allied Peoples’ Movement to strengthen opposition ahead of 2027.
The two parties officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Ibadan on Thursday to solidify their collaboration for the upcoming general elections.
Seyi Bamidele and Oladele Oyadeji signed the document, with Governor Makinde and APM National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle also formalizing the agreement.
During the proceedings, Governor Makinde declared his intention to join the 2027 presidential race, marking a significant shift in the political landscape.
This declaration establishes the Oyo State Governor as a frontrunner in the early permutations surrounding the contest for the presidency.
Political observers suggest that this strategic alliance is a calculated move to consolidate power and challenge the status quo in 2027.
