Obi Pledges Single Four-Year Term as Presidency Questions His Credibility

Peter Obi has declared that he will only serve a single four-year term if elected president to ensure national stability.

In an interview with News Central TV, Obi emphasized, “I want to be a one-term president because of stability. I would not stay a day, with a gun to my head, longer than four years.”

He also criticized the current administration’s fiscal management, noting, “It’s only two years that someone used to borrow more than all the previous governments put together.”

Obi further lamented the state of the nation under the APC, claiming, “It’s only two years that Nigeria has been the hungriest country in the world.”

Responding to the pledge, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga dismissed Obi’s credibility, stating, “If you believe Peter Obi’s promise to serve only one term as president, you’ll believe anything.”

Onanuga argued that Obi’s history of switching parties proves his unreliability, concluding, “By his own actions, Peter Obi has shown that his word cannot be trusted.”
