Yul Edochie states why he thinks Peter Obi hasn’t achieved anything politically in recent times

Actor Yul Edochie has sparked conversation on social media by offering a spiritual explanation for Peter Obi’s recent political trajectory. In a post shared on X, Edochie claimed that the former presidential candidate’s progress is being hindered by a past commitment. He suggested that Obi’s ambitions remain tied to his former political home, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Edochie insinuated that unless the former Anambra State Governor returns to the party, he may continue to face significant political hurdles. The actor argued that the shift away from APGA has fundamentally disrupted Obi’s path to higher office. According to the post, the “South East dominated party” remains the core of Obi’s political identity and success.

The actor went further to allege that Obi had taken a solemn oath never to leave APGA during his time as governor. Edochie claimed that this vow included a personal prayer that he would never achieve anything politically should he ever abandon the party. This narrative adds a layer of mysticism to the ongoing analysis of the Labour Party leader’s career.

Focusing on the gravity of such spiritual commitments, Edochie insisted that these rituals have tangible consequences in the physical world. He wrote: “Oaths are real,” adding that the specific pledge Obi allegedly made is now acting as a barrier to his progress. This perspective suggests that Obi’s challenges are not merely strategic but rooted in broken promises.

The actor’s comments come at a time when political observers are closely watching Obi’s moves ahead of the 2027 general elections. By linking political success to traditional or spiritual allegiances, Edochie has shifted the debate away from standard policy and campaign metrics. His post quickly went viral, drawing both criticism and agreement from various political quarters.

Despite the stir caused by these claims, there has been no official response from Peter Obi’s camp regarding the alleged oath. The actor’s assertion remains a controversial take on the internal dynamics of Nigerian politics and the history of its key players. For now, the narrative adds to the growing list of unconventional theories surrounding the nation’s political future.
