2027: Peter Obi won’t get my support, says Cubana Chief Priest

Celebrity socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly declared his intention to work against Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election. The nightlife mogul made his position clear during a candid Instagram exchange with followers on Tuesday.

When asked directly if he was working against the former Anambra State Governor’s anticipated bid, the businessman did not hesitate to confirm his shift. He noted that his current stance should not be seen as an issue, given his previous political efforts.

Explaining his past involvement, he wrote, “yes oh hope say no be crime cuz I worked for Obi last election even as special adviser to an APC governor.” This confirmation quickly sparked a wave of diverse reactions across social media platforms.

Critics were quick to remind the socialite of his previous legal troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Many suggested that his new political alignment might be a strategic move to avoid further government scrutiny.

Dismissing these suggestions, the socialite claimed that an encounter with the anti-graft agency is actually a symbol of status. “If you never go to the EFCC for Naija, you never make it,” he wrote in response to the critics.

The conversation eventually shifted toward regional development and the South-East political landscape. Chief Priest challenged those questioning his loyalty to show what they have personally contributed to the development of the region.

Addressing a user who brought up the Biafran cause, he wrote, “Go and support who you want to support. As you like Biafra, how many developments have you done for the South East?”
