APC leaders hold meeting, push for Tinubu’s second term
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre in Abuja this Wednesday for a high-level roundtable. The meeting served as a strategic platform to reinforce party internal unity and formalize the push for President Bola Tinubu’s second term.
Ismael Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi), organized the event. The gathering included federal ministers, heads of government agencies, and influential party stakeholders from across the nation.
The discussions focused on three primary goals: strengthening the party’s cohesion, reviewing current administrative successes, and building a framework for the upcoming election cycle. Attendees emphasized that political stability is essential for the administration’s long-term vision.
A major theme of the session was the accountability of political appointees. Ahmed reminded the officials that they act as the face of the government and must remain answerable to the Nigerian citizens who provided the electoral mandate.
The convener issued a firm warning against appointees losing touch with the grassroots. He argued that a disconnect from the public directly undermines the President’s goals and urged leaders to prioritize active engagement with their communities.
Addressing the crowd, Ahmed stated, “Now is the moment for us to solidify public trust through meaningful policies and strategic alignment.” He linked the success of these policies to the party’s ability to maintain its political foothold.
Concluding the session, Ahmed noted, “This is how we will pave the way for continued progress as we move towards the next electoral cycle.” The roundtable ended with a renewed commitment to the President’s second-term agenda.
