Grammy or Not: Isreal DMW Declares Davido “The Best Deal” After 2026 Loss

Isreal DMW, the loyal logistics manager to Afrobeat icon Davido, has brushed off his boss’s recent loss at the 68th Grammy Awards, insisting that the singer remains the pinnacle of the music industry. Taking to Instagram on Monday morning, February 2, Isreal reassured fans that the absence of a trophy does not diminish Davido’s “G.O.A.T.” status.

The reaction follows the awards ceremony held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night, where Davido missed out on the Best African Music Performance award. The category, which featured Davido and Omah Lay’s collaboration “With You,” was won by South African star Tyla for her viral hit “Push 2 Start.”

Unfazed by the outcome, Isreal shared a post on his Instagram story to boost morale among the “30BG” fan base. He wrote: “Grammy Award or not, Oga still remains the Best Deal Mad, Back to Back Hit Shiits Continues. Una go hear sweet music taya.”

The loss marked a disappointing night for Nigerian music exports, as fellow nominees Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid also failed to secure wins in their respective categories. Despite the collective heartbreak for Nigerian fans, the night featured a historic moment as the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti was posthumously honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Davido’s recent Grammy run has been a subject of intense conversation; including his 2024 and 2025 nominations, the singer has now faced five near-misses at the prestigious awards. However, his team remains focused on his sustained global influence and upcoming projects.

Isreal’s comments echo a sentiment of resilience that has become a hallmark of Davido’s camp. By dismissing the significance of the award in favor of “back-to-back hits,” Isreal signaled that the singer’s focus has already shifted to his next wave of releases scheduled for later this year.
