Manchester City edged out Manchester United in the 2024 Community Shield via a penalty shoot-out on Saturday. The match ended 1-1 after regulation time, with both goals coming in the second half.

During the shoot-out, Jadon Sancho and Jonny Evans missed their penalties, leading to City’s 7-6 victory.

United will now shift focus to their Premier League opener against Fulham at Old Trafford next Friday, while Pep Guardiola’s squad will kick off their title defence at Chelsea on Sunday.
