Gunmen kidnap auxiliary Bishop and his driver in Owerri

The Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, Most Rev. Dr. Moses Chikwe and his driver have been abducted by unknown gunmen. The Bishop was being chauffeured when their vehicle was attacked along the World Bank – Umuguma road in the evening on Sunday, December 27. The car was later dropped at the Assumpta Cathedral.

According to the the spokesperson of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the incident, said the state commissioner of police, has activated the Commands Quick Intervention Team and Anti-Kidnapping Unit to move into the matter with a view to rescue the Bishop and possibly arrest the hoodlums.

  2. What do we call this because most of the hoodlums have seen this kidnapping as means of livelihood and if certain measures are not taking on those hoodlums they will take over the country.

  3. Kidnapping has now turn to lucrative job in the country where everybody wants to engage, all these is the fault of government because if they were caught they will later Free them in a long run that’s why we are having issues on kidnapping people.

  8. The matter of insecurities in this country in just getting worse, look at something now… you can imagine this now. Anyway they will release them with ransom.
