Mary Habila: “Arrest and Investigate Umahi Over Death in His Residence” — Sowore
African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the immediate arrest, investigation, and removal of the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, over the death of Mary Habila at the minister’s residence.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, Sowore alleged that the incident raises serious questions that require a thorough and transparent investigation.
He also claimed that several engineers reportedly disappeared during Umahi’s tenure, alleging that no meaningful action was taken to uncover what happened to them.
According to Sowore, when pressure mounted for the authorities to produce the remains of the missing engineers, the bones presented for medical examination allegedly did not match the victims
“You can commit crimes and get away with it at some point, yes, but you will never get away at all times. Now his crimes are catching up with him.
“Apart from the five engineers that are missing under his watch, there’s also a family that has been in jail since 2025 that he ordered to be sent to prison in Ebonyi.
“Don’t forget that this same Umahi constructed one of the most expensive airports where even a drone doesn’t land today in Ebonyi.
“So his crimes are catching up with him, and he must answer for them. Umahi must be arrested and investigated, tried, and appropriately dealt with,” Sowore said
